It's dense, dark and dripping with vibrant flavours of intense, concentrated fruit coupled with polished and seasoned vanilla oak and revealing just the slightest meaty, currant-like aspect. Supported by fine tannins, it finishes with a hint of minerality and spirity warmth."

A fragrant nose of Asian spices, bacon, lavender, game, and blueberry lead to a dense, rich, powerful, and structured Shiraz. It will require a minimum of 6-8 years to fully blossom after which it should offer 15-20 years of pleasurable drinking."

Campbell Mattinson 93 points!"Anyone who thinks that a 15 percent alcohol red wine can't be balanced should try this Kalleske Johann Georg Shiraz. It's a seamless wine without any real sigh of alcohol warmth, let alone heat.
Super smooth. Amazingly so. A wine that tastes of melted dark berries, chocolate, liqueured cherries and mint. A wine that hits with a wall of flavour and sails on like a velvet blanket from there - no dips, no real nuance, just full bore all the way. And yet melodic. And yet balanced and soft and, seemingly, controlled. There isn't a great deal of structure though in many ways its balance asserts its own scaffolding. In a big glass, you could easily drink this now - indeed it might now be at its best."
