"2011 was such a different season for the Barossa. Many of the wines are completely atypical.

Fine-boned " not words you usually associated with Kalleske shiraz. I'd even say that it's been delicately put together. It's Kalleske meets the season: tarry fruit with a nutty overlay, a violetty lift and then a salty, spicy finish. Spicy and more savoury than usual, but the (medium weight) fruit still has a beefiness. It'll be too spicy for some, and too beefy for others, but I thought it was a pretty good result from the season. It's certainly not insipid or green. Gently salty aftertaste."
