"Greenock Shiraz 2009 is deep red-black in colour with a purple hue. The bouquet immediately evokes a serious wine with uplifting and inviting aromas of spice, cherry, briar, cedar and fruit cake. The palate is very generous and promptly fills the mouth with richness and flavours of red fruits, dusty spice and licorice. The full-bodied palate is elegantly balanced with a layered structure, integrated soft tannins and classy oak barrel maturation characters. A very lengthy finish completes a complex, opulent and pure Barossa Shiraz that will reward cellaring."

"Kalleske Greenock Shiraz is a single vineyard wine sourced from a low yielding block consisting of shallow sandy loam over superb deep red clay providing ideal conditions for Shiraz vines. The wine is made in open-top fermenters and basket pressed and matured in hogsheads for up to two years before being bottled without fining or filtration. It is a powerful wine with intense flavours of dark rose, licorice, cocoa and sweet tobacco supported by fine ripe tannins. A wine with a strong backbone and a long finish that will cellar for a long time."
