The seriously-endowed, complex, intense 2001 Shiraz The McRae Wood is a dense purple-colored, beautifully-textured, fleshy offering exhibiting a big, chocolatey, earthy nose of black fruits, spice, pepper, and new saddle leather. This plump, rich, concentrated, loaded Shiraz easily conceals its elevated tannin beneath a wealth of glycerin and fruit intensity. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 10-12 years.
