"Dense purple black. This is usually the outstanding cuvée and once again the nose promises very well, Dark fruit, concentrated but not too ripe, a little bit of black cherry, then some ripe strawberry, easily enough fruit to surround the tannins, just the right acidity. More muscle than the Vosne, but very well balanced for a medium to long term future." - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
"The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas De Combe Vieilles Vignes has a clean and precise bouquet with black cherries, crushed violet and boysenberry fruit. It takes time to unfurl in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins, fine acidity, quite structured with a fresh, sappy finish. This should age nicely in bottle." - Neal Martin, Vinous
