Janots Bos Bourgogne Rouge 2020

TINY PRODUCTION RED BURGUNDY, WITH FRUIT SOURCED FROM THE FAMED POMMARD APPELATION

"The vineyard is located in Pommard (Mont Poulain and Taupes de Vianges) and in Corgoloin ‘En Bellicot. The wine has been aged in wood for about 7 months, without using new barrels. In the nose ripe fruit, especially cherries, small red fruits and a little pepper and cinnamon are present. In the mouth the aforementioned aromas plus the beautiful ripe tannins stand out. In the aftertaste the fruity notes are present combined with a beautiful undertone of freshness (thanks to the nice acidity). Bourgogne Rouge as it should be. Already delicious but we know that this wine, like our Bourgogne Rouge from previous years, can also mature." - Janots and Bos

"Introducing Thierry Janots and Richard Bos. Two excellent winemakers with a passion for wines from the Côte d'Or, Bourgogne. In their winery in Meursault they make wines of the highest quality, brilliantly expressing the famous Burgundy terroir. They avoid additives and superfluous manipulations.

In 2005 they founded their own winery. Thierry has worked for numerous famous wineries, like Joseph Drouhin, Louis Latour and Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Richard worked in the Netherlands in gastronomy. Almost ten years after his education in Beaune, he followed his heart and went back to Burgundy. In 2005 they decided to join forces and founded JanotsBos. Although both are skilled winemakers, Thierry is focusing on the technical aspects, the wine making, whereas Richard is focusing on the marketing and commercial activities.

The wine guide “Guide Hachette” regularly praises the Janots Bos wines and has repeatedly awarded the “Coup de Coeur” to the winery." - Winery
