Signed by the great player himself!
3L Shiraz made by Geoff Merrill, Wolf Blass and Tyrrell's to commemorate Australian wicket-keeper, Ian Healy.
"We are delighted to bring you this special Shiraz blend to commemorate Australian wicket-keeper, Ian Healy, becoming the most successful wicket keeper of all time with a world record of 356 dismissals in Test Cricket.
This unique wine is a rare blend of shiraz grapes grown in the following regions:
- 1996 McLaren Vale 35%
- 1996 Barossa Valley 33%
- 1997 Hunter Valley 32%
The wine is made by Geoff Merrill Wines, Wolf Blass Wines and Tyrrell's Wines. Hence the name MBT.
After barrel fermentation and a further 20 months maturation in a combination of French and American oak Hogsheads, the wine was bottled in 1998.
The wine displays a pepper, spice aroma with subtle oak overtones and rich soft palate with tight lingering tannins.
With only 356 bottles produced (each bottle of wine representing a dismissal) this signed, limited edition is a sought after collectors item. We are confident you will enjoy the talent of these three wine makers as much as you have enjoyed Ian Healy's 10 years of Test Cricket."
