"The 1988 vintage has always been a finer, more supple and slightly herbal Great Southern cabernet sauvignon, with a single percent of local malbec. It's since evolved into a complex smoky, cedary, gamey and tobaccoey claret style, whose penetrative presentation of small berry fruits has, if anything, become even more youthful with time. Its chocolate/coffee oak is perfectly integrated and its texture has become rounder and more creamy with time, framed by powder-fine tannins and wonderfully fresh acids. I rate it at 18.9, drink 2008"2018."
