Carr signature inside the bottle as well as on the label - it's all about beautifully struck autolysis, time on lees and quality material underpinning it all. The gently sweet, nougat-like fragrance is enthralling, very fresh, with some honeysuckle and a subtle toast layered across fine citrus, lightly toasted hazelnuts, hints of marzipan too. The palate has dried red fruit flavour with a twirling thread of toasty, nutty flavour, just the right balance of grip and cut, lemon citrus and peach here too, and really biscuity through the finish. So much here - truly a great sparkling."
