"Beautifully complex, this evolving but vivacious sparkling wine is deeply scented with waxy, toasty aromas of honeysuckle, brioche, cloves and cinnamon with underlying smoky, meaty and mushroomy notes. It's long and luscious, smooth and creamy, with a delightfully layered but fluffy presence on the palate of peach, melon, apple and nougat-like flavours invigorated by gentle, ultra-fine bead. Exceptionally long, with remarkable staying power, it finishes with a lingering note of wet slate."

"A sparkling that is head to head with the heart of of NV Champagne and it comes out in great shape. There's plenty of complexity with attractive, sweet lemon blossom and red fruit fragrance, strawberries and cherries, some finer flinty elements too; there's almond biscuit, chalk and gentle marzipan. The palate has svelte shape and evenly paced style, with tangy acid crunch and a heart of bright lemon citrus. Builds shape and length.

"The 2004 Arras Grand Vintage offers lemon / lime aromas with hints of white blossoms, orange peel, coriander seed, baking bread and a touch of chalkiness. Crisp, elegant and refreshing in the tightly-knit mouth, it gives a very satisfying toasty / creaminess in the long finish. Drinking well now, it should improve with another year or two in bottle and drink to 2018+."
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate #201 Jun 2012
"Tasmania is the modern home of high-quality Australian sparkling wine, and the House of Arras is the benchmark. Well-heeled champagne connoisseurs who drink only French should take note. With seven years' ageing on lees, the 2004 combines complexity and finesse beautifully. Seamlessly integrated aromas of peaches and citrus, musky white flowers, glace fruits, ginger and toasted nuts introduce a silky, flowing mouthful that combines richness and intensity with zest and length of flavour."
Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age Epicure, 6th November 2013.
