Pepper, meat, dried herbs and vegetal notes but plenty of blackberry/blackcurrant fruit with it " cool wet vintage and winemaker conspiring to make a surprisingly Rhone-styled Barossa wine here. It's medium bodied, very firm and chalky in the mouth with fine tannin and excellent shape. I've exclaimed in my notes, as it hit my mouth, 'that's a surprisingly good wine!, and so it is. Sweet blackfruit, dark chocolate and spice on the shapely and long finish. It's of a particular style, and styling, but fanciers will fancy it. No doubt. Suspect it will age with dignity and likely improve.
