Wine List/Gustave Lorentz

[SOLD-OUT] Gustave Lorentz Evidence Pinot Gris 2015

An elegant yet powerful Pinot Gris!

"A range of powerful, complex fragrances including hints of smoke and roasted coffee beans as well as notes of white dried fruits and honey with some hints of minerality. The palate has a lively attack, refreshing acidity, round and broad, fruity, great structure with a clean and dry finish. An elegant yet powerful Pinot Gris."

The Lorentz family has been making wine since 1836 in the heart of the Alsace. Charles Lorentz Sr. developed his vineyards on the hills of Altenberg de Bergheim, in the foothills of the Vosges Mountains. Today the Estate has grown to 79 acres in this extraordinary terroir, with 3.71 acres planted on the hills of the Grand Cru Kanzlerberg and 29.65 acres in the Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. The current owner/winemaker Georges Lorentz, is the seventh generation of the family firm, headquartered in the medieval village of Bergheim, in the Haut-Rhin.

Firmly convinced of the need to preserve the environment, owner and winemaker, Georges Lorentz began the transition to organic viticulture in the early 2000s, becoming fully organic in 2009, converting all vineyards (33 hectares).

The name EVIDENCE reflects the respect we have for the biodiversity in our vineyards, as evidenced by the return of game birds to our land, which has inspired this label. The feathers represent the wine’s finesse and balance, while also alluding to its wild and natural nature."
