'It's always a beautiful wine and it is again - strong with lime and lemon blossom and yet dry on the finish, an edge of minerals swaggering through the aftertaste. That said, this release has a plumpness in the mouth that seems both riper and more forward than usual - it's still a super wine, but a tad below what we've come to expect of it. Drink: 2006-2011.'

It's a textural wine, whose smooth expression of assertive tropical, citrus and stonefruit flavours overlies a chalky spine before finishing with pleasing length and tangy, lemony acids.'

Wine Advocate 90 points! The 2006 Dry Riesling 'Watervale' offers an earthy, slate/mineral nose intermixed with floral and citrus aromas. On the palate it is medium-bodied, crisp, dry and vibrant leading to a long finish. It can be enjoyed now with oysters and clams but will likely age for a decade in the manner of a top German Riesling.
