Greenock Creek Seven Acre Shiraz 2017

WINE FRONT 94 POINTS!

"This is my pick of the 2017 release shiraz showing best balance and some earthy, minerally characters that levelled out all the bombastic fruit and American oak that swaggers through the other wines. An allegedly rugged, unusual soil profile and a churlish site for vines. Sounds ideal, to me.

Blue berry fruit character overlaid on sweet earth, crushed rock, clove-nutmeg spice and slate-like mineral characters. Tannins shape the wine well and though north of medium bodied, there’s a sense of restraint, purity and freshness to this wine. Long, rolling, soft tannins lend a hand, and the wine has an easy appeal and yet a lot of character and detail. Heartland Barossa stuff done well here." - Wine Front

"The bluestone slate throughout this block adds an earthy, almost graphite-like character to the wine that complements the lifted blueberry and blackcurrant fruits. Ripe figs covered in dark chocolate are surrounded by sweet spices and a racy acid drive to pull all the flavours through the immense finish.

I find this an intriguing wine that is equally savoury as it is dark fruit-driven with a defining tannin profile. Definitely one to sit on through the night and watch it evolve in the glass.” - Greenock Creek
