[SOLD-OUT] Greenock Creek Casey's Block Shiraz 2019

 

"Cranberry red with brick red hues. Cranberries and anise intertwined with earth and roasted meats. Generous and fruit driven. Dark chocolate and vanilla bean round out the dense layers of plums and blueberries. Inviting, soft tannins give a sense of plushness to the palate with buttered toast and dried figs to finish.

Radford Road vineyard, Seppeltsfield, Barossa Valley Fruit was delivered quickly from vineyard to winery to avoid the heat of summer with grapes being de-stemmed, without crushing, directly to our open cement fermenters for slow, gentle extraction. Free-run juice and pressings were combined in tank before transfer to 100% seasoned American oak for 22 months maturation.

Heat in the early stages of ripening saw intense tannin and colour development in the berries and the flavours of the dark fruit spectrum emerge. The wines of this vintage are deeply coloured and possess bold and intense tannin structure that will allow long cellaring. 15% Alcohol by volume." - Greenock Creek
