"One needs to look at this wine for what it is. If you want elegance and delicacy, finesse and fragrance, this is not for you. While some of the wines in this release have high, very high, alcohol, it is not always apparent. Here, it can’t be completely hidden. 17% is serious stuff, nudging port levels. But for those into big reds, come on down. You’ll love it. Reds don’t get much bigger. It hails from the Seppeltsfield sub-region in the Barossa Valley.
An opaque colour, near black. There is seemingly some oak evident here with the cloves, black olives and beef stock touches. Some fresh herbal notes as well. A powerful, solid wine and there is perhaps the slightest evidence of the famous Cabernet doughnut in the middle. Decent length here and certainly promise and potential but time in the cellar would do it the world of good." - Ken Cargett
