"Oh, for the love of stunning Cabernet Sauvignon. Like a well-trained thoroughbred this is both muscular and lithe. Savoury and cocoa aromas lead the way down a bramble, berry-packed path. There’s fennel on the sidelines, a hint of spearmint, a whisper of thyme and a kiss of violet. We’ve got the block’s creek line positioning to thank for such a varietal chorus (in a nutshell, it’s cooler). The faint floral note is evocative and permeates the memory bank – much like a long-lost lover’s perfume. On the palate, dark berry flavours are delivered with the finesse of a masseuse’s steady, confident hands. Dark berries, mist-like tannin and the gentle tug of acid make this utterly approachable and ready to drink now. Bravo to winemakers Alex Peel and Peter Atyeo.
