"This block was planted on the site of an old apricot orchard and this provides a stone fruit element to the wine. The palate is rich and silky with morello cherries and ripe raspberries melding with hints of sweet nutmeg spice. Dark, bitter chocolate fills out the structure and complements the rounded tannins and apricot kernel lurking at the finish.
The French term of Terroir really rings true in this block with the old apricot orchard still impacting on the wine flavours. Such a velvety wine that almost makes you forget that it will age with such grace even though it is so good to drink now.”
