Glaetzer Anaperenna Shiraz Cabernet 2018

96 POINTS - JAMES HALLIDAY!

Courses with energy, vitality and a seamless flow of fruit, spice, wood and minty-herbal detail. Feels quite pent up, tense in a way, though that yields in the palate with a lovely softness as you spend time with the wine. Black berries, sweet and salted plum, dark-bitter chocolate, a sheath of light but sandy tannins doing the shape thing decently. The finish is tart, citrusy and peaky, alas, taking away early and general pleasure with what feels like an after thought character… perhaps time soothes that. Generally, excellent feel to fruit. That finish, though. Glorious perfume, metered and bold but elegant feel, generally." - Mike Bennie, Wine Front

"The name Anaperenna has been inspired by Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the New Year. Anna Perenna symbolises the year's cycle and her name translates as 'enduring year'. Romans honoured Anna Perenna with a festival held on the first full moon of the Roman calendar. On March 15th they would ask Anna to grant them longevity, and a healthy year for each glass of wine they drank on that day.

Glaetzer Anaperenna is a seamless fusion of the two varieties Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined, with a very long and satisfying finish." - Glaetzer
