"Malty, lanolin, raw almond aromas, delicate, refined, subtle and beautifully balanced. Tastes quite different to a Gingin clone wine from, say, Margaret River. Intense, very fine and long and there's a gentle grip on the finish that helps cleanse the aftertaste." - Real Review

"Lemon-ginger tea scents and flavours, yuzu fruit, cumquat sweet-sour tang. Exotic citrus, hey? Flinty notes, some sizzling saline acidity in the core, slick, liquid spice cinnamon-clove oaky layering. A leaner style but not without flavour and vitality. Long and dart shaped then starburst of citrus tang to close. Good gear here." - Wine Front

"Located on the steep north facing slopes of the Warramate Ranges, the Sexton Vineyard is exposed and demanding. Being on the higher slopes, topsoil is thin and root systems have established themselves in shallow gravelly loams above a tough rocky clay base. Bunch yields set naturally low in this environment, resulting in intensely flavoured fruit with high skin to juice ratio.

100% hand picked – a spectacular year with every block and clone contributing to the final blend. Whole bunch pressed, juice transferred to barrel by gravity with no settling. Indigenous yeast fermentation in 500L French puncheons.

No batonage. No malolactic fermentation. Maturation for 10 months in new and used French oak – 20% new, 80% older, Taransaud and D&J.

The predominant clones are GinGin and Mendoza which produce hens and chickens (large and small grapes on the same bunch), which results in high white tannin and phenolic content to balance the citrus flavours." - Giant Steps
