[SOLD-OUT] Giaconda Shiraz Warner Vineyard 2012

Tim White - 98 Points!
Warner Vineyard Shiraz is grown 6.5km from the Beechworth town centre on granite soils typical of the general area. The wine is tank fermented and then tansferred to French oak (approximately 30% new) and aged for 22 months, deep underground in our granite maturation cave.

Impressive depth of colour. Lashes of black berries and vanilla pod with earth notes bringing another twist to the bouquet. There's chocolate and orange peel, cinnamon and sage too; a fruit laden palate with gobs of delicious blackberries nicely seasoned by fine cedary tannins finished off with a twist of cracked black pepper. A much bigger and bolder style than the 2011 but with sufficient poise and structure to show why granite soils are the perfect fit for Shiraz. A savoury mineral flourish at the end makes the wine moreish.
Giaconda Wines

"Pure raspberries and blackberries, gentle pepper and other transitory souk spices. A palate bursting with fruit, relieved by the finest, building, black coal-edged tannins. Long, so long."
Tim White, Financial Review - 98 Points

"Consistently great Beechworth shiraz. Good concentration and lovely, super-long flavour lead... One for the cellar."
