Jeremy Oliver Rating 96!"A massively proportioned shiraz by the standards of this vineyard, and one whose meaty ripeness and treatment with bruising, charry oak simply demands time in the cellar. It opens with exaggerated slowness to reveal deep, brooding, briary and brambly fruit and smoky, charcuterie-like undertones. Closed down to the point of lacking personality at present, it ultimately reveals deep, spicy, seamless qualities and a superb, long-term structure. Don't be misled by its raw smokiness if you open it too early " simply wait a day or three." Tasted 20/06/2007.

Wine Advocate 91 points!"The 2005 Shiraz "Warner Vineyard" spent 22 months in French oak, 60% new. Opaque purple-colored, it reveals an enticing perfume of pain grille, pepper, Asian spices, smoked meat, bacon, and blueberry. On the palate it is firm and slightly lean with good flavors and a long, pure finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years. Giaconda, founded by Rick Kinzbrunner, released its first wines in 1987. The winery and vineyards are located in Beechworth in northeastern Victoria."

Campbell Mattinson 97 points!"I'll bet the bank on this one. It's got structure and class dripping from every pore. It's a pretty wine but a big wine, and as a
young wine it also shows a deal of toasty, fragrant, strident oak. It doesn't bother me. The fruit is spicy, very ripe, meaty and intense, with lots of soy, blood plums and ferrous, smoky, of-the-earth notes. Give it time " it will reward. It's going to be great. Drink: 2014-2024."
