[SOLD-OUT] Giaconda Nantua Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

This is a new wine for the 2014 vintage. Perhaps this is what Rumpole meant when searching for a "cheeky railway claret." In this instance, there is a clear expression of the complexity of Cabernet Sauvignon: cedar, violets, dark red and black fruits, cold tea and a faint whiff of kiwi boot polish. This wine is encased in a fine mesh of elegant, savoury tannins boosted by the small addition of Nebbiolo. Perfectly ripe fruit provides the melody while the bass notes come from tannins that underpin this wine. A new age Cabernet that is immediately appealing though also built for the longer term.
