A mix of eucalyptus, cherry, leafy and tar aromas and flavors are allied to a moderately firm structure in this balanced red. The finish is long and walks the line between fresh cherry, spice and earth notes. Best from 2018 through 2032.

nticing aromas of wild berry, pine forest, aromatic herbs, iris and a hint of leather emerge on this full-bodied red. The bold, chewy palate delivers crunchy red berry, anise white pepper, clove and sage alongside youthfully assertive tannins and bright acidity. The ripe fruit seamlessly supports the alcohol level..”

DESCRIPTION
A true Barolo di Barolo, Albe is a blend of grapes from three different vineyards at three different altitudes. Every morning the sun rises from one vineyard to another creating a symphony for the senses just like the wine produced from these blocks. This is a Barolo of great character and refined balance, where beautiful aromas, refined equilibrium and ripe tannins, come together in perfect harmony.

VINEYARD
With altitudes from 400 to 440 meters, different exposures and soils, the three vineyards in Barolo, Fossati, Coste di Vergne and La Volta give life to a single harmonious wine with loads of personality.

FARMING
Vajra has always believed in sustainable farming and keeps the turf natural and green in the vineyard. No irrigation is used while thinning is decided according to the vintage.

HARVEST AND WINEMAKING
The harvesting of Nebbiolo grapes in the Comune of Barolo is done during the second half of October. Grape picking and transporting the grapes in small crates are done manually to keep the grapes intact. The careful selection of grape clusters starts in the vineyard and is carried out with the same attention all the way to the cellar. The fermentation lasts 30 to 40 days depending on the characteristics of that vintage. Before bottling, Barolo Albe ages in Slavonian oak barrels for approximately 36 months.

TASTING NOTES
Sheer ruby red color. Aromas of red fruits and plums, flowers, pine needles and brushwood. Albe is a harmony of sophisticated and delicate flavors supported by an elegant acidity and ripe tannins.
