“Elegant, stylish and complete, with a sweet, floral and primary fragrance of red and black cherries, restrained cedary oak and earthy, underbrush-like notes. Its juicy and translucently clear, with a mouthfilling core of fresh berries and cherries backed by a hint of mineral, tightly knit with cedary oak and supported by a fine, drying spine of pliant tannins. Pristine and spotlessly clean, it builds in power and intensity towards the finish, culminating in a gentle but lively acidity.”

“Claudio Radenti presented this wine to me on two occasions, well, the second one I snuck a glass from under his nose, but you get the gist. He’s proud of his wines but also cautious, seeking approval, not needy, just because humility drives his work and not bravado. That’s left for the glass. A unique single site that produces reserve and power in equal measure, and, cunningly, profound tannin presence weaved into the DNA of the wine. Wonderful expressions from his amphitheater in the east of Tasmania. This a beauty of an introduction to his wines.
Pretty as you like in perfume. Fragrant red cherry juice, twist of bouquet garni, sniff of game meat, touch of earthiness. A crisp quality to texture but a rub and smudge of berry fruits underlying. Flesh, then a grip of tannin. It’s rapid in its delivery, but leaves you lurching back to the glass for a sip. Great stuff here, and a beauty for the bucks.”
