Campbell Mattinson 90+ points!'This is aged in 500 litre French oak puncheons, having been grown organically and fermented (cool) in open vats. It's not a wine in a hurry, and when you're tasting it you need to slow down and give it a bit of time to reveal itself. It has an 'Italianate' edge too .. Dry and perhaps a bit gamey with licorice and leather and an assortment of fresh berries. Smells of dark soil too. Quite mesmerising if you give it a chance to breathe. Palate is bitter and dry and chocolatey, with modest oak influence and excellent texture. It really needs time - in the bottle, in a cool dark place.'
