"...Dark chocolate, ripe plum, vanilla aromas and a dense, rich palate. It has an almost voluptuous texture with lots of fruit sweetness."
Huon Hooke, Gourmet Traveller WINE, Aug/Sept 2005

Harvey Steiman 92 points!
"Supple, round and stylish, this wine has a lovely range of flavors that includes cherry and spice, with delicate hints of orange peel and red pepper. Flavors persist on the fine-grained finish. "
Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator Weekly, July 2001

Winemaker:
Natasha Mooney
Variety:
Shiraz
Region:
Barossa Valley, South Australia
Colour:
The 2003 is a dense and dark beauty with deep red to dark purple hues.
Bouquet:
The aroma is rich with lovely dark plum, mulberry and mint characters and balanced, integrated oak.
Palate:
This Shiraz shows an intense richness on the front palate and exhibits opulent mulberry and dark plummy fruit flavours, combining with Barossa spiciness. The wine is extremely well balanced with a fruit and tannin structure that will ensure longevity in the bottle.
Maturation:
As with all the Fox Gordon Wines, the Hannah's Swing has been matured for eighteen months in a mixture of new and one year old, thin staved French barriques.
Cellaring:
Drinking beautifully now, but will continue to develop and mature in the bottle with careful cellaring over the next 6 to 10 years.

Barossa Shiraz is an amazing thing at its best when the site selection and viticultural practices come together. The Hannah's Swing is from three of my favourite Barossa vineyards and uses a mixture of very old (80 years) and not quite as old (20 years) vineyards. This wine is made on the vine and as a winemaker, I just aim to let those flavours show through and we then compliment them with tannin and oak.
