“The nose is well-concentrated and densely packed with aromas of dark raspberry and red berry fruits entwined with dark herbs, unfolding some earthy and mineral reductive detail. Medium-full bodied, the flavours of dark-red berryfruit, raspberries and dark herbs are somewhat restrained, with the unfolding of the mineral detail. The mouthfeel has good body and presence with soft, supple tannins and integrated acidity underlining the fruit. The wine grows in breadth as it flows to a long, fine, dry-textured finish..”

“For the Pinot Noir drinker Folium is a producer you need to know about . It is the venture of Japanese born winemaker Takaki Okada, who trained at Clos Henri in France's Loire Valley before dedicating himself to the pursuit of Pinot Noir perfection in Marlborough. The region, is less known for its red wines, but with its climate of sunny days, cool nights and oceanic cooling effects it is now becoming well known for excellent Pinot Noir production. Okada's 8ha vineyard is organic, dry-grown, and much of his winemaking is spent in the vineyard, reducing yields in order to enhance quality. His philosophy and wines sit like a little oasis in a region flooded with big commercial enterprises.”
