"Pinot Meunier is the grape of the season. This mutant of Pinot Noir is a variety used mostly for Sparkling wines, but delivers the goods as a fresh, gulpable red wine. Fikkers is a solo operation, with Anthony Fikkers using small parcels of Yarra Valley fruit to turn out regular little vinous gems. Simple winemaking, delicious drinking.

Pale in colour, but plump with flavour, this variety is in great hands with Anthony Fikkers, who gives us a delicious, fresh wine. It smells floral and tastes of mulberry and cherry juice, with a taut edge and a hint of smoky spice to back it."
