"Showing why Gippsland is in the spotlight for producing Australia's most intriguing Pinot Noirs, this cult winery's single vineyard wine is a light and fine-boned expression of the grape. It brings rose florals, spice and white pepper to its chiseled palate of raspberry, cranberry and rhubarb flavours. Its fine tannin frame and acidity will see it pair wonderfully with lighter foods from BBQ or seared salmon or tuna, duck pancakes and mushroom risotto.
Winemaker Ryan Ponsford was twice a finalist in the Young Gun of Wine, winning the prize in 2022 for his ethereal and meticulously crafted wines. Working with the terroir of Gippsland’s Baw Baw Shire, he trained alongside William Downie and has absorbed his focus on organic viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking." - Wine House
"Deep and complex with aromas of raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, black tea, pepper & wood spice. The wine is dense and textured with firm tannin and bright acid.
From the Willow Grove vineyard, a north facing hill of red volcanic and Grey Dermosol soil. Planted in 2001 to MV6 & 114 clone Pinot Noir. Planted on own roots and never irrigated. Fermented on skins for three weeks and aged in 500L Barrels for 12 months on fine lees." - Winery
