"Made from vines planted in the Greenock sub-region of the Barossa Valley at the start of first first world war. This is an expression of Barossa shiraz it would be easy to spend a lot more time with. It has power and impact but it's not gloopy or brandied or any of those things. It's balanced in the oak department too. An essentially plum-flavoured wine with blackberried depth. I try to avoid the word "minerally", particularly in reds, but this wine clearly has that non-fruit character commonly referred to with that word. Gunmetal and Asian spice too. It's an attractive wine."
Campbell Mattinson, Wine Front, Aug 2013
"Very purple lovely rich fruit and voluptuous. Lovely gentle texture. A really quite slinky, inky and purple sort of a wine in the modern form. It needs more time to settle, but gee its already seductive. Well priced too."

"Deep red/purple glowing colour. Walnutty oak and dried spice bouquet. Nice touch of oak adds to its spice. The taste is medium to full-bodied and savoury, with a drying finish and good length. Soft ample tannins give it a silky-smooth texture. Lovely wine. A very serious shiraz."
