"The 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard, the 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Ashmead (produced from 78-year old vines) is great stuff. Its saturated purple color is accompanied by scents of toasty new oak intermixed with black cherry liqueur, creme de cassis, creosote, and vanilla. This voluptuous, layered, opulent Cabernet is a full-throttle, Australian version of a French Pomerol. The finish lasts for 50+ seconds. Still primary/youthful, with tremendous upside potential, it can be drunk now, but should be even better in 4-5 years. It will last for 12-15 years, possibly longer."
