Einaudi Barolo Bussia DOCG 2016

HUON HOOKE 97 POINTS! GARY WALSH 95 POINTS! ANTONIO GALLONI 95 POINTS! JAMES SUCKLING 94 POINTS!

"Deepish red colour with purple tints and touch of brick-red. The bouquet is strong on dried herbs and straw, very savoury and non-fruity, the palate confirming this style in an emphatic way. Traces of meat-stock, dried porcini mushrooms, and the tannins are very drying and massive on the full-bodied palate. A statuesque, stately wine - very dry and very savoury, with great length and sapidity. Terrific stuff." - Real Review

"The purity of fruit is impressive here with dried strawberries and raspberries with hints of dried flowers. It’s medium-to full-bodied, racy and polished. Drinkable now, but a few years will make it even better." - James Suckling

"Ripe raspberry, toffee apple, rose oil, lavender, and spiced biscuits. It’s full-bodied, with ample red fruit, plenty of open-weave tannin, aniseed perfume, fresh strawberry acidity, and firm sandy grip on a long and rich finish. It’s bold, but has plenty of energy." - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

"The 2016 Barolo Bussia is laced with a whole range of sweet floral and balsamic overtones, along with striking underpinnings of structure and tannin that give the wine its shape. A wine of energy, tension and nuance, the Bussia is just superb in 2016. Time in the glass brings out its ample, expansive richness. I can't wait to see how it ages." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous
