"Vintage 2011 produced a complex wine which is somewhat more approachable than in previous years. Fruit characters such as Black Doris plum and soft berry compote, both typical for Dry River, are in abundance. A floral mix dominated by violets, baking spice and vanilla are complemented by a warm oak character on the nose. The moderate alcohol level (13%) supports the dark berry fruit and phenolic compounds on the palate. Despite youthful accessibility the depth and structure of this wine and the acidity will provide the necessary backbone for cellaring."
