"2022 is the inaugural release of Domenica Gamay. This medium bodied red wine is a natural fit for Beechworth’s climate, elevation and soil.
Inspired by carefully farmed Cru Beaujolais, this is a Gamay to be taken seriously. Fermented in two equal sized cuvees, one fully destemmed and the other 30% whole bunch. Berries were left whole allowing for gentle extraction and maintaining purity of fruit. Aged in second, third and fourth fill barriques for 9 months.
Cool earth, mulchy undergrowth, impressions of purple fruit. An expressive wine with a structure suiting medium term ageing. A welcome addition to the Domenica vineyard." - Domenica
