"Les Hervelets is a Premier Cru climat within the small commune of Fixin at the northern tip of the Cote de Nuits. The Les Hervelets site is located at the northwestern edge of Fixin village, and separated from its neighbor, Les Arvelets, by an ancient dry stone wall.
Soils in the Les Hervelets vineyard are distinctive - while hard limestone with a good proportion of clay is found throughout Fixin vineyards, the marl and limestone soils in Les Hervelets tend to be lighter and less stony, making for wines that are slightly lighter in body, showing outstanding delicacy." - Wine House
