"Old vine Muscadet that offers some of the best value coming out of the Loire! Crisp yet textural with preserved lemon character for days!
Domaine de la Grenaudiere is run by brothers Jean-Luc and Guy Ollivier in the Muscadet Sevre Et Maine appellation in the Loire Valley. Their vineyards are quite old at 25 to 60 years of age. The fruit is hand harvested, then full clusters are fermented on indigenous yeasts in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and in cement tanks before aging in tanks with lees stirring.
The wine is bone dry with great tension and lively thirst quenching acidity, showing delicious notes of lemon butter richness and tart grapefruit. There’s also a pleasing oyster shell salinity and driving mineral freshness which gives the wine a slight resemblance to classic Chablis, but at half the price!" - Wine House
