[SOLD-OUT] Domaine A Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

 

"Intensely concentrated blackcurrants, sloes, liquorice, black plums, tobacco, chocolate, coffee, wood smoke, leather, mulberries, vanilla, pencil shavings, cedar, I could go on but I’m sure you have things to do today. This wine has everything going for it, complexity, mouthwatering acidity, ripe and well-structured tannins and an abundance of concentrated fruit characteristics, spices and only the merest hints of maturity sneaking in. Long after the wine has left my mouth, all of these flavours linger and off my brain goes again on a whimsical journey through flavours and other incredible wines that I have tasted over the years.

At ten years old, it is still youthful with many years still to come. A blend of grapes picked over almost three weeks, the Merlot headed into the winery on 18th April, 21st for the Cabernet Sauvignon and 26th for the Cabernet Franc. The last in, Petit Verdot, was picked in early May and after blending in late May, Peter aged the wines for three years in oak before heading into its long slumber in bottle on 28th August 2014." - Curly Haslam-Coates, Wine Front
