Dom de Chatillon Mondeuse Savoie 2018

SINGLE VARIETY MONDEUSE WITH SOUR CHERRY AND DARK PLUM NOTES

"Mondeuse is one of those red grape varieties that seem to have inbuilt ‘minerality’, for want of a better word, like Teroldego does. This is from 40-50 year old vines...

...Redcurrant, fresh blueberry and raspberry, a dusting of white pepper and crushed rock, meat and violet. It’s light in body, crunchy and fresh, cool cranberry acidity, dry and ‘minerally’. It’s kind of bony, but still packs in plenty of flavour, finish has pumice stone tannin and a sour cherry edge. If you want big and bold, look elsewhere, but the charm and drinking appeal here is so high, so refreshing, that it’s hard not to gulp. Value." - Gary Walsh, Wine Front

"Vibrant magenta colour with aromas of violets , raspberry & white pepper. On the palate it's medium bodied & fresh with supple well integrated tannins. Flavours of crushed strawberry, red currents, blueberry & wood spice with a hint of cacao, the finish is clean & refreshing with a hint of savouriness." - Domaine de Chatillon
