Wine List/Dog Point

[SOLD-OUT] Dog Point Pinot Noir 2011

Gourmet Traveller 96 points!
"Good growing season in Marlborough for 2011 harvest, lots of fruit, pretty good as far as reports go too. Meanwhile, they put this wine in old and new oak for 18 months.

Oak shows gently in spice and cedary twang to taste, but shapes the wine, holding fruit at bay and giving some battery life to fine, dusty tannins, that fringe the fruity core of the wine. It's dark and concentrated in flavour, brooding almost, but whips to a clean, fresh, slightly cloying finish. You get that generosity of Marlborough but tempered by tannin and structure, which makes this a fine feeling wine. Dive in."
Mike Bennie, Wine Front, 8th April 2013.
"Dog Point has cherry, spice and nutty aromas that are varietally pure and inviting. It's delicately flavoured, silky, middling on body and underpinned by fine tannins."
The Age Epicure, 14th May 2013.

Dense, flavoursome pinot noir with strong dark cherry, plum and spice flavours. Richly textured with backbone of firm, ripe tannins that promise good bottle development. This is very serious pinot indeed - a pleasure to taste and drink!
