"Crushed violets and fresh, sliced darkplum aromas here. The richness and freshness is very attractive and convincing. There’s a very lithe, juicy plum core with cocoa powder to close. Drink or hold.

"Holgate’s Road Vineyard. It sees a minor component of whole bunch. Offers black cherry mixed with maraschino scents, touches of old fire place and brown spice, a lift of brambly character. Ample in the palate but not overtly weighty. Shows with more dark fruit character, some light game meat notes, a touch wild but not as per the ‘Two’ release from 2018. This has an easy appeal, flow, suppleness. Good length too. Fine wine paradigm stuff."

"Our single vineyard Pinot Noir from our Holgates Road property. Soils here are very free draining, grey sand and gravel over clay and coffee rock, so the vines on this site tend to be less vigorous and need less manual manipulation than the red volcanic soils found at Tilson and Berrys Creek. The wine is a “barrel selection”, designed to highlight the strengths of the site and season. This wine will often show a little extra structure and power than Dirt 1 or 2."
