"Winemaker Marcus Satchell has been in Gippsland for around a dozen years – part of the renaissance for the large Victorian wine region. There’s something in that. This vineyard has been in the baseline of Dirty Three’s ‘regular pinot noir’ since 2012. There are now three single vineyard wines under the Dirty Three label.

Red currants, dried cranberry, strawberry, rose petal, fennel, clove spice. It’s a wonderful, savoury-leaning bouquet here. The wine has a wilder, unfettered edge to taste, garrigue and sweet earthiness lending personality over fresh but darker fruit flavours, with corduroy tannins providing grip and intensity. Chewy finish, loads of spice, plenty of complexity in feel. Of Dirty Three’s single vineyard wines, this is the one that gets the visceral and intellectual firing the most. Superb."

\"Our single vineyard Pinot Noir from our Holgates Road property. Soils here are very free draining, grey sand and gravel over clay and coffee rock, so the vines on this site tend to be less vigorous and need less manual manipulation than the red volcanic soils found at Tilson and Berrys Creek. The wine is a “barrel selection”, designed to highlight the strengths of the site and season. This wine will often show a little extra structure and power than Dirt 1 or 2. This wine has approximately 15% whole bunch fermentation."
