"Dense in colour, this wine displays dark fruit and earthy characters on the nose with a silky fine line across the palate. Medium weighted with bramble fruit and some edgy herbal and mineral notes. The slight bottle age giving the wine a rustic feel but with silky smooth tannin. Although William Downie is a winemaker that is all about expressing the terroir rather than the winemaker's style this wine has his stamp all over it; lively, interesting and developing nicely. This is a great chance to try this highly acclaimed winemaker's produce at a very affordable price"
