"Medium to deep garnet in color, the 2011 Damsel of the Barossa Merlot is a little reduced to begin with but eventually opens up to show the underlying notes of red plums and mulberries plus touches of Mediterranean herbs and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied with a good amount of taut red fruit and earthy flavors, it is framed by medium to firm chewy tannins, crisp acid and a long finish."
