"In customary Craiglee style this wine takes some time to reveal itself. I've had this bottle open for 24 hours and it's improved slowly throughout. It's peppery and dark cherried, slightly meaty and glycerol. There is some noticeable alcohol warmth but fruity, sappy, smoky flavor is the mainstay of the finish. This will cellar well, no problems."

"Made with younger vines on the estate and including 2% Viognier in the blend, the 2008 Shiraz Viognier is a very different style from the Shiraz. It offers warm blackberry, black cherry, tar and licorice aromas over notes of black tea and fertile loam. The medium bodied palate is gracefully constructed with a good amount of ripe fruit, medium level of silky tannins, refreshing acid and a long finish with lingering cinnamon, anise and rosehip tea notes."
