"Medium-deep garnet-purple in color, the 2009 Shiraz has pure black raspberry, red cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg aromas over nuances of roses, spice box and pencil lead. Medium bodied with a taut structure of high acid and medium-firm grainy tannins, it has a generous amount of tight-knit fruit, which lingers long and pepper-laced into the finish.

Craiglee is an incredible site of Australian history, with the first vines at this property having been planted in 1863. Wines were made here until the 1920s before the economic situation and Victoria's attitude towards wine forced it to close its doors. In 1976 the Carmody family took over the property. Patrick Carmody planted the first vines in 1976 and these vines are the backbone of the flagships Chardonnay and Shiraz. The Shiraz is simply and naturally produced, generally possessing a medium body and taut structure that can age very well."
