"Craiglee is at its best when it's both ripe and pepper-spicy at once.
This 2008 Craiglee is an example of the vineyard at its best. It's blueberried and black cherried but it's (black) pepper spicy and super fine through the finish. Tannin laces its way through the wine and it finishes effortless but long. Perfect oak/fruit/acid balance. Interest and character. Medium weight and elegant in the best possible sense."

"The Carmody's historic Craiglee vineyard is an essential pilgrimage for anybody interested in Australia's wine heritage. The '08 shiraz has a ripe nose, like a summer pudding of fresh berries; spicy and earthy notes add gravitas. Medium-bodied, soft in the middle and fine in tannins, it's a gentle, supple style that improves with air. Herbed minute steaks wouldn't go amiss on the side."
