"2011 Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is produced from a single vineyard at Coriole, planted in 1919 by Geoffrey Kay. It was first retained as a separate wine in 1989. It is one of Langton's Classified Wines of Australia.

A deep, brooding nose with dark cherry, blackberry and clove. Very complex aromas of blackberry, plums, spice and chocolate. A rich very succulent palate and gentle tannins. The palate is full, rich and complex with bright, dark fruit and restrained oak. This wine shows great attraction to consume when young or can be cellared for many years. A balanced wine that is elegant with an approachability that many of the 2011 reds from McLaren Vale display."

"Deep red/purple: very good colour. Slightly fumey as well as earth and dried spice aromas, very ripe to super-ripe, but not overdone. Intense and focused on palate, tight and structured, well-balanced, nothing out of place. A hint of crushed oyster shell later. Good backbone: not a syrupy sweet style. Very good."
