"I tasted this some months back but on re-tasting it now, it's even better than I first thought. It shows some funk. Some game. And yet some understatement. It will take some time to come properly around. Rhubarb, cherry-plum, chalk, green herbs, tobacco and woodsmoke flavours abound. A clear feature is the gentle creaminess of oak. It's tangy and plush at once. "Varietal character" isn't as prized as it once was, perhaps, but this is gorgeously varietal"
