[SOLD-OUT] Clos Manyetes Priorat 2014

Wine Front 97 Points!

Wine Front 97 points!

49% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 16% Shiraz, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (or 49% de garnaxas, 25% carinena, 16% syrah, 10% cabernet sauvignon). It’s a wine you can get lost in, that’s for sure. Raspberry, blackberry, tar, wild herbs, liquorice, spice and crushed rocks. It’s full bodied, but fresh and lively, with unrepentant minerality, slaty tannin, packed with juicy berries and ‘fruitiness’, though at no point does it feel simple or anything other than the product of a remarkable vineyard. The length, in particular, is superb. Fark. This is exciting.

Gary Walsh, Wine Front, February 2017

"Clos Mogador is a 20Ha amphitheater of crumbling slate. The vines are at 350 metres and are surrounded by mountains up to 1,200 metres high and the vineyard’s lower extremes are adjacent to the Siurana River.  49% Grenache, 25% Carignan, 16% Syrah and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 21 months in 300l and 2000l French oak barrels.

…Here we find red and black fruits as expected, layered with toasted, spicy aromas which give a thought provoking nose.  The palate shows us how well the wine will develop during the ageing process which, in its turn, will bring maturity and charisma.  This type of charisma is only found in a great wine. This is a wine where the sun and the land express themselves and this family hears and understands them.  This allows them to show the world the magnificence of their region which contributes to the liquid heaven which is CM14.”
